Loving God, loving people and leading them to life in Christ

Join us at Alive in Christ Church each week on Sundays at 3pm. Thingwall Community Centre, Wavertree Garden Suburb Institute, L15 7JX

Sharing God's amazing love

We’re so glad you’ve found us here! At Alive in Christ Church, we’re a community built on two simple but profound truths that Jesus shared: love God with everything you are, and love your neighborus as yourself.

Our church is committed to living out Christ’s great commission – sharing His love, making disciples and walking alongside each other in faith. Whether you’re exploring Christianity for the first time or looking for a church to call home, you’ll find open hearts and open doors here.

We invite you to join us as we grow together, serve our community and experience the joy of being truly alive in Christ.

Come as you are. Find belonging here.

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’

Matthew 22:37-29

What We Believe About...

We believe that there is one God, Sovereign Creator of all things who is infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the Son of God. We believe that He was truly God and truly man without sin, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered, died on the cross, was buried, and rose bodily from death for our total justification and salvation. Further, we believe that having risen from the dead; He ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now the Head of the Church, our High Priest and Advocate. We believe that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and that no one comes to the Father except through Him.

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ atones for our sins and iniquities. Further we believe that all who believe in His name and only those who receive Jesus by faith, are born of the Holy Spirit and become children of God. It is by grace through faith and cleansing with Jesus’ shed blood that we are saved. We believe through Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit we can be released from the bondage, and power of sin.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age, to convict men of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, to regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, empower and gift the believer for Christ-like character, behaviour and service. Furthermore, we believe that the evidence of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling presence is a changed life and that as Christians we must be filled with Him daily.

We believe that the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and living. We believe that the Bible is the true infallible Word of God, which cleanses our souls and that it does not only contain the Word of God; but is actually, the Word of God. We further believe that we are to be transformed; by the renewing and washing of our minds through the Word of God, thereby learning His ways and exchanging our way of thinking for His.

We believe that people were created in the image of God for fellowship with God but fell into sin and became guilty and subject to God’s condemnation and wrath. Having been alienated from God, people are therefore lost. And only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. Therefore, we further believe that every professing believer must have a personal and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. We also believe that as part of our destiny each person has a ministry from God that no one else can fulfil.

We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope. We believe that the dead in Christ will rise first and those who are alive and remain shall be caught up to meet the Lord Jesus in the air.

We believe that after death, one continues to live consciously, in heaven or hell, based on one’s decision to accept or reject God’s free gift of eternal life through faith in His Son and choosing whether to live according to God’s Word or rebel against it. We believe that there will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to everlasting destruction.

We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been born again by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ as believers. We believe in the equipping of believers for the work of ministry by instructing, teaching, strengthening, encouraging, exhorting, comforting, and admonishing in the ways of God from the Bible. All Christians need each other; we are all part of the body of Christ (The Church).

We believe that water baptism by full immersion, soon after repentance and accepting Christ as personal Saviour and Lord, is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life. We further believe that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial, setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner, the death of the Lord Jesus Christ, which only all true believers should share in.

We believe that tithing and bringing offerings into the local Church is a major covenantal obligation that we have toward God as His partners, for the support of all the ministries of the Church, including towards the poor, the homeless, the orphans, the widows, and any otherwise unfortunate persons.

Stories of God’s Goodness

Every day, we witness God’s love and faithfulness in our lives and community. These stories aren’t just testimonies—they’re celebrations of how God is moving among us in Liverpool and beyond.

From answered prayers and unexpected blessings to profound moments of growth and healing, each story reminds us that God is present, active, and good—even in life’s challenging seasons.

We share these stories to encourage one another, strengthen our faith, and give glory to the One who works all things together for good. They’re reminders that we’re part of a larger story that God is writing in our church family and in our city.

Browse through these testimonies of God’s goodness, and if you have a story of your own to share, we’d be honoured to hear how God has been working in your life too.
